A traditional museum displays beautiful art, history, and traditions from diverse countries, but the Museum of the Future is not like that! It takes you on a journey 50 years into the future, with plenty to show you!
MOTF: The Interiors
The Museum of the Future spans seven storeys (but only five are accessible). Each floor has something special in store for you. You’ll feel like you’re back in school as you tackle issues like climate change, ecology, health, wellness, spirituality, imagination, and the future of space travel and life, divided into 5 “chapters”! This will be a unique museum experience, featuring immersive theatre, interactive displays, and themed attractions.
Adjust your eyes to the bright white insides
As soon as you enter, you’ll be in the magnificent atrium, which is bathed in bright white light. Large calligraphy panels may be found all around the building (they are thought to represent ties to the outside world). Put on your wristbands and begin your experience, which starts with the lift. There will be many bubble lifts flying up and down around you; board one and begin your journey into the unknown!
Zoom up to a makeshift space station
Your quest begins on the fifth floor. You’ll then descend one story at a time, cascading until you reach your starting point: the lobby! The lift will feature a countdown and genuine movements (which you will barely detect). Before docking at the Orbital Space Station, take a glance outside to see your surroundings.
Chapter 1: OSS Hope (Floor 5)
You’ve arrived at your destination: Orbital Space Station (OSS) Hope. You’ll be informed on your position via video before entering the station’s command centre. Before continuing, make sure to listen to all of OSS Hope’s amazing missions, discoveries, and inventions. The 3D walls and model are built of recycled materials, and you are welcome to touch them!
Chapter 2: Heal Institute (Floor 4)
Reboard your drop pod and return to planet Earth (or a floor below), where your adventure continues. Enter a beautiful digital Amazon at Heal Institute, where the issue of climate change stands out. Walk on to “The Vault of Life,” which houses a DNA library of over 2000 species and emphasises the importance of repairing the damage caused by climate change.
Chapter 3: Al Waha (Floor 3)
This chapter, translated as “The Oasis,” invites you to unplug from all forms of technology and engage all of your senses. This chapter focusses on finding a balance between reality and virtuality. We must not lose sight of the value of imagination as technology advances. Enjoy the several interactive exhibitions available.
Chapter 4: Tomorrow Today (Floor 2)
Now that we’ve taken a brief hiatus from technology, it’s time to return and explore the technological developments that have occurred since 2022. The fundamental subject is clear: leading our world to a better future in terms of the environment, culture, society, and politics.
Chapter 5: Future Heroes (Floor 1)
If you’re visiting with youngsters, we’ve left the best for last: “Future Heroes,” a location where the planet’s future heroes–our children–can let their imagination run free. Children aged 10 and under can run and play while learning how to effectively and attractively construct their future.
You read that correctly: there is a robot barista in the museum cafe in the foyer. Before you go, stop at the cafe and get served a cup of coffee by a robot!
