The National Aquarium is home to more than 35,000 aquatic animals from more than 300 kinds of fish, birds, amphibians, arachnids, and reptiles, in addition to its magnificent design. Abu Dhabi’s concept 2030 is reflected in Al Qana’s overarching concept, which includes the National Aquarium.

The aquarium has the biggest underwater tunnel ever, which adds to the excitement and inclusivity of the tourist experience. The aquarium also has a department solely focused on education as part of its conservation initiatives. This department will host 60 educational exhibitions, a range of engaging performances, and live-feeding and interactive events. Upgrade to the All Access option to enjoy breathtaking views on the Glass Bottom Boat tour and a stroll around the Glass Bridge. Take a Behind the Scenes tour of the aquarium to get a behind-the-scenes look and create lifelong memories.

What is prohibited

• Remember that food and drink are not permitted into the venue. Be careful when packing!
• Pets are not permitted during this event.
• Pregnant visitors are not advised to take the Glass Bottom Boat Tour (Bu Tinah Dhow) or the All Access Pass for safety concerns.

Extra Details

• A 16-year-old or older adult must accompany children under the age of twelve.
• It is expected of all visitors to The National Aquarium to wear modest clothing. Please be aware that shoes and tops are required. Any clothing that could be interpreted as disrespectful or disruptive will not be allowed.

Getting There

By Bus

• Khaleej Al Arabi Street/Bus Interchange is the nearest bus stop. The attraction is about a 4-minute walk away.
• To reach there, take buses #21, #22, 1101, and others.
• The trip from Downtown Abu Dhabi to Al Qana takes less than half an hour. Take route #56 if you’re travelling by bus, as it goes via the Al Maqta area.
