After a comfortable journey of around 20 km from Tbilisi, you will arrive in Mtskheta, which was the capital of the Eastern Georgia Kingdom from the 3rd to the 5th centuries AD. Prepare to be immersed in its unique old-world charm as you see some of the region’s most treasured gems with your knowledgeable guide. This includes UNESCO World Heritage Sites such as the revered Svetitskhoveli Cathedral (enshrined with Christ’s robe) and the 6th century Jvari Monastery, which is positioned on a high rock overlooking the breathtaking river confluence vistas of the Aragvi and Mtkvari rivers. Drop-off at your accommodation is included.

Today, you will take a relaxing drive away from Tbilisi on the Gudauri Tour. This journey will take you to the picturesque village of Stepantsminda, where you can see the 14th century Gergeti Trinity Church as well as the stunning views of the Chkheri River, Mount Kazbek, and Darial Gorge. The excursion will also take you to the Ananuri Fortress Complex and Jinvali Water Reservoir. This is followed by a visit to Pasanauri, a breathtaking natural wonder where you can observe the confluence of the white and black Aragvi rivers. After breakfast, check out of your hotel and embark on a full-day tour of the Kakheti wine region. Starting with a pick-up from your Tbilisi hotel or location, the first destination is the revered Bodbe Monastery, which houses the grave of the 4th-century apostle St. Nino. Set against the backdrop of the enormous Caucus Mountain, the entire scene is extraordinarily beautiful and quiet, including St. Nino’s spring, which is thought to have medicinal or healing characteristics.
You will next travel to Sighnaghi, one of Kakheti’s most picturesque towns. It is a cultural and historical site, with magnificent Italian-style houses, gorgeous churches, and, most notably, the well-preserved Sighnaghi Great Wall, which dates from the 18th century. It is also known as the ‘City of Love,’ because to its unique wedding house.

After a delicious breakfast, check out from your hotel and your driver and vehicle will be waiting to pick you up and drop you off at Tbilisi International Airport. You may rest confident that you will arrive at the airport in time to complete all necessary requirements before boarding the trip.
