Global Village is getting ready to host a spectacular four-day celebration to mark the traditional Emirati occasion of Hag Al Laila. From Saturday, January 31, to Tuesday, February 3, the park will transform into a cultural wonderland filled with festive lights, family activities, and breathtaking aerial performances. The highlight of the weekend kicks off on Saturday night with a massive fireworks display at 9 PM. While the main action is centered around Fireworks Avenue, you will be able to see the colorful explosions from almost anywhere in the park. The magic continues on Sunday evening with a specially choreographed Hag Al Laila drone show at 9.05 PM. This high-tech performance uses hundreds of lights to tell cultural stories in the sky, blending modern technology with ancient traditions in a way that only Dubai can deliver.
Over the four-day event Global Village will focus on a distinctly local atmosphere. Visitors can relax in a traditional majlis or admire the heritage-inspired decorations that celebrate the spirit of the UAE. For the little ones the celebration is extra special as it echoes the true meaning of Hag Al Laila. Children can participate in creative workshops and traditional games, and they can even expect free sweets, just like the local custom of visiting neighbors to collect treats.
