Etihad Rail Reveals Complete UAE Passenger Train Network Map

Etihad Rail Reveals Complete UAE Passenger Train Network Map

The official release of the entire Etihad Rail passenger route map indicates a permanent change in how we travel throughout the Emirates. It represents a significant change in our connection to one another and how we commute or travel between different cities and regions. An end to long, arduous drives filled with stop-and-go traffic is on the horizon. The new national rail system will provide greater convenience for business professionals and vacationers alike traveling from Abu Dhabi to Dubai or from Fujairah to Ras Al Khaimah.

Spanning a total of 900 km, the passenger service is designed to be the backbone of UAE transit. The recently shared map provides the clearest look yet at the 11 cities and regions that will be part of this historic network. With trains reaching speeds of up to 200 km/h and high-speed options in the pipeline, the UAE is positioning itself as a global leader in modern rail travel.

The 11 Stations of the UAE Passenger Network

The network connects key industrial, residential, and tourism hubs. The 11 stations revealed on the map include

  • Mohammed bin Zayed City (Abu Dhabi)—A central hub providing easy access to the capital and Zayed International Airport
  • Jumeirah Golf Estates (Dubai)—Strategically located near the Dubai Metro to link the rail with the city’s urban transport
  • University City (Sharjah)—Serving thousands of students and residents while sitting just minutes from Sharjah International Airport
  • Al Hilal (Fujairah)—The eastern anchor of the line, connecting the mountainous coast to the rest of the country
  • Al Sila—A strategic western station near the Saudi Arabian border
  • Al Dhannah—Formerly known as Ruwais, this is a major industrial and economic center
  • Al Mirfa—A beautiful coastal town in the Al Dhafra region
  • Madinat Zayed—An important administrative and industrial heartland
  • Mezairaa—Gateway to the stunning Liwa Oasis and the desert
  • Al Faya—A vital transit point between Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, and Dubai
  • Al Dhaid—A key connection point within the Sharjah emirate

Unbeatable Travel Times

One of the most exciting aspects of Etihad Rail is how much time it will save. Commuting between major cities will now be measured in minutes rather than hours

  • Abu Dhabi to Dubai—Just 57 minutes
  • Abu Dhabi to Al Dhannah—1 hour and 10 minutes
  • Abu Dhabi to Fujairah—1 hour and 45 minutes
  • Future High-Speed Rail—A planned 30-minute trip between Abu Dhabi and Dubai

A Greener Way to Move

Additionally to its rapidity, it will have a tremendous effect on our environment. A train will enable 400 people on board to eliminate hundreds of automobiles from travelling on roadways as well; by 2030, the rail system is projected to provide service to 36 million customers per year. Not only will this significantly lower the CO₂ emissions produced in the UAE, but it will also ease traffic congestion along extremely popular highways such as the E11.
