Dubai Municipality Announces the Return of Ramadan Souq on January 17

Dubai Municipality Announces the Return of Ramadan Souq on January 17

Dubai is preparing for a wonderful Ramadan season with the return of the Dubai Municipality’s annual Ramadan Souq for its 4th year. The historic Old Municipality Street Square will transform into a lively space for cultural and commercial activities starting January 17th and continuing through February 15th. This heartwarming event, which has been a part of Dubai’s history, provides the opportunity for Dubai’s residents and visitors to prepare for Ramadan and embrace Emirati culture with its many traditions.

The Ramadan Souq will serve as an annual destination from which visitors will experience the traditions of the Old City. Each year provides a renewed opportunity for community and tradition in a festive environment with a focus on the market’s historical significance.  The souq and its vendors will share the stories behind many of the products and services, as well as invite guests to explore the historical significance of Dubai’s markets.

Heritage Shopping and Family Activities

Located in the bustling district of Deira, the souq will host a variety of recreational and tourism events. A special miniature souq will be set up right next to the historic Deira Souq, where long-established local shopkeepers will offer essential items for Ramadan. You can find everything from traditional household goods to special items needed for the Haq Al Laila celebration, which is a joyful time for children and families across the UAE.

Entertainment and Community Spirit

The event also has live entertainment and workshops in addition to retail stalls. There will be areas specifically designed for children to learn and play. So a family-friendly environment will be provided throughout the month. The Dubai Municipality aims to make use of this area to increase public space utilization and enhance community cultural identity during the most significant time of the year. If you are looking for inexpensive authentic goods or to experience the holiday atmosphere, you will find that there is a unique opportunity at the Ramadan Souq.

Plan Your Visit to Deira

The Ramadan Souq is open every day from 10 AM to 10 PM, giving you plenty of time for a morning stroll or an evening browse under the lights. Once the souq concludes on February 15, the celebrations do not stop there. Dubai will immediately transition into the Season of Wulfa. Which brings over 50 tradition-focused events and experiences leading all the way up to Eid Al Fitr. It is a wonderful time to be in the city and soak up the local atmosphere.
